What Can You Do at The Science, Industry and Business Library?: Access Databases

Overview of services, collections, and access to materials at The Science, Industry and Business Library, The New York Public Library. Guide by Madeleine Cohen.

Onsite access to databases

As one of the four research centers of the New York Public Library, the Business Center provides access to over 800 databases which can be accessed free onsite. The Business Center offers a variety of specialized business, finance, industry, market research, and real estate databases, as well as newspaper and periodical databases including publications in multiple languages.

Electronic resources at the Business Center include general reference sources, scholarly e-books and journals, statistics, maps, digitized books and more.  Many of the Business Center's specialized business and market research databases are accessible only at the Business Center and not in other NYPL locations.

A large selection of NYPL databases may be accessed from home with a NYPL Library Card.

Speak with a librarian for guidance or help with using electronic resources at SIBL .
