Media Literacy
Express Your Power is an award-winning four-part series produced by Media Smart Citizens in partnership with Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library (SNFL) of The New York Public Library. The series is internationally recognized for empowering personal storytelling through an innovative media literacy initiative, exploring the relationship between media, civil rights, and social change.
Express Your Power episodes begin with a focus on the First Amendment as the foundation of respect for others in America, and emphasize the significance of personal truth-telling. The series will introduce you to multiple media formats and resources for telling your story. Effectively sharing our stories gives us deeper insight into each other’s life experiences, promotes better social inclusion, and strengthens our democracy.
