Black Comics and Graphic Novels: Independent Published Comics & Graphic Novels

This guide provides an introduction to the collection of Black comics and graphic novels, and all related materials at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture.

Introduction

Some of the best comics and graphic novels today are published independently -- some from small publishing companies and many through Kickstarter campaigns. At the Research and Reference Division we collect a variety of independently published visual narratives, below are just a few examples.
