Founded in 1965, The Rodgers and Hammerstein Archives of Recorded Sound (abbreviated as Recorded Sound hereafter) is one of the richest and diverse resources for sound studies in the world. The archive holds over 700,000 audiovisual recordings, print materials, and realia, which document the history of recorded sound both in content and format from the late 1800s to the present.
