Black Comics and Graphic Novels: Home

This guide provides an introduction to the collection of Black comics and graphic novels, and all related materials at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture.

For decades the Schomburg Center has collected comic books and graphic novels showcasing black characters, black authors, as well as criticism, commentary and history. This research guide provides an overview and highlights items from our collection. The majority of the comic and graphic novel collection is available in The Jean Blackwell Hutson Research and Reference Division. To learn more about visiting the Research and Reference Division and accessing any of our materials, visit the Guide to the Jean Blackwell Hutson Research & Reference Division
