Remote Research Services

Did you know that anyone who lives, works, attends school, owns property or pays taxes anywhere in the State of NY can qualify for a New York Public Library card? 

What you can do remotely with a NYPL card:

Download recreational and scholarly ebooks

Use 250 databases from home, including historical newspaper and primary source collections

Use our Electronic Document Delivery service to request an article, chapter or short excerpt from millions of books held at our offsite facility

City residents will need to pick their card up at any one of our 92 locations in Manhattan, the Bronx and Staten Island.

New York State residents who live outside New York City can apply to have their cards mailed to them. 

The ReCAP Shared Collection
