    Biographies and analysis of the work of all the artists who were central to modern art. If a major artist is missing from the list, The Art Story has not had a chance yet to research their life and art.

  • Artcyclopedia 
    A comprehensive database of artists and their works. Users can search the website by an artist’s name, the name of an artistic work, or for a particular art museum.

  • ArtNet Artists
    An A-Z list of over 340,000 artists names

  • Artsy | The Art World Online 
    Features the world’s leading galleries, museum collections, foundations, artist estates, art fairs, and benefit auctions, all in one place.

  • AskART
    An online database containing close to 300,000 artists, providing biographies, images, citations, museums owning their work and galleries representing the artist's work.

  • The Met’s Heilbrunn Timeline of Art History 
    Presents a thematic, chronological, and geographical exploration of global art history through The Met collection.

  • NYPL | Photographers’ Identities Catalog 
    An experimental interface to a collection of biographical data describing photographers, studios, manufacturers, and others involved in the production of photographic images.
