Guide to the Jean Blackwell Hutson Research & Reference Division: Request Materials at the Library

Remember, we are a closed stacks library, meaning we do not keep our collections on open shelves for spacing and preservation purposes. Don't worry! It usually only takes us between five and ten minutes to retrieve requested items.

1. First find the materials in the NYPL Online Catalog. 
2. Fill out a request slip for each item, making sure to include:
   1. The call number
   2. The title
   3. The author (if applicable)
   4. Your name
3. Give the slips to a staff member at the Page Desk
