In 1994 the New York Public Library honored the 25th anniversary of Stonewall 25 with an exhibit entitled "Becoming Visible." This exhibit celebrated the history of the LGBTQ community, and the curators, Fred Wasserman and Molly McGarry, created a book based on the collection items from the exhibit. The book, Becoming Visible, not only includes a detailed history, but photographs, advertisements and more.
