A basic introduction to the Bloomberg Terminal

How Do I Find Information on Government Bonds?

From any screen on Bloomberg, start typing Government Bonds in the Help menu. Bloomberg will autocomplete the term after a few letters. Alternately, press the yellow GOVT key. 

WB is the mnemonic for World Bond Markets. Type or select WB to access world government bond data. 

 

 

United States Government Bonds

You can access data on United States treasury bonds directly with the following commands: 

Type  GOVT GO for a general list of United States treasury securities. 

U.S. Treasury Bonds 

10 Year:

CT10 GOVT GO

5 Year:

CT5 GOVT GO

U.S. Generic Bonds

USGG5YR INDEX GO

USGG10YR INDEX GO

3 Month T-Bill:

CB3 GOVT GO

 

 

 

United States Municipal Bonds

To find municipal bond information:

Type STGO and press MUNI for state issued bonds

Type CTGO and press MUNI for city issued bonds
