Idea Generation
Are you looking for a type of security, and can't find it on Capital IQ? Are you trying to create an elaborate screen on Capital IQ, but don't know how? You may want to consider looking into Capital IQ's Idea Generator Screens.
S&P Capital IQ offers screens they call "idea generators." These are pre-created screens offered to find specific types of securities, or indexes, with complicated criteria that would not be found with a simple screen. For example, Capital IQ's idea generation screen for SPACs (Special Purpose Acquisition Companies) screens for business descriptions, industry classifications, and company status and type to generate a list of companies that qualify as SPACs.
From any page on Capital IQ, select Screening from the ribbon near the top of the screen, and then select All Idea Generation Screens.
Use the search engine near the top of this new page to use search terms and determine if Capital IQ has a pre-made Idea Generation Screen that works for you. Of course, you can also select a pre-made screen and modify the screening criteria to better fit your search.
