What is an earnings call?
An earnings call is a teleconference, sometimes also broadcast on video, hosted by a public company to report and discuss their financial performance as reported to the Securities and Exchange Commission. Companies generally publish a transcript of the call, as well as a copy of the broadcast (when one exists).

Transcripts and/or video recordings of earnings call are available on the following databases:
- BloombergUsing our Bloomberg terminal, select the common stock of the company you are researching (use the ticker symbol, press EQUITY and GO, or type in the name of the security for prompted suggestions).
Next, type EVT, then press GO for a calendar of corporate events. Check for audio and/or transcripts of earnings calls. - FactivaFrom the Sources field, select VIQ FD DISCLOSURE. Change the subject to TRANSCRIPTS. Click on SEARCH.
- S&P Capital IQ (Standard and Poor's Capital IQ)Select the company that you are researching, using the search engine at the top of the screen.
Next, select "transcripts" under the News, Events & Filings subject heading in the left column (it is down near the bottom of the page).
As an alternative, you can create a screen for earnings calls using the screening engine, by selecting Screening from the ribbon near the top of the page.
