Music Research from Home using NYPL resources: Music Specific Databases

A guide for doing research in music while the NYPL branches are closed.

Access to text & image based resources

The entire list of more than 800 databases can be browsed here https://www.nypl.org/collections/articles-databases

  • Some are available only from within an NYPL branch - you'll see this next to them
  • Some are available from home with your NYPL login - you'll see this next to them
  • Some are open Internet resources that anyone can access - you'll see this next to them

Please Note: The majority of the databases for which we had extended access while the libraries were closed have reverted to onsite use only. However, most of those are available at any library branch, so you do not need to come to the LPA to use them, just venture to your local circulating branch.
