Optimize Your LinkedIn Profile with LinkedIn Learning Video Courses

Learn to create your LinkedIn profile and write your LinkedIn summary by viewing video courses on the LinkedIn Learning database (formerly Lynda.com). The courses are presented and led by career coaches and business professionals. They are ranked into three levels; beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Start by logging into LinkedIn Learning by clicking on the link below and logging in with your NYPL library card and PIN. First, create an account to track course progress, create playlists of potential coursework, and keep course notes. Some courses provide supplemental materials like exercise files and relevant work samples that you can download.

LinkedIn Learning (formerly lynda.com) LinkedIn Learning, formerly known as Lynda.com, is an online educational site that features thousands of courses and video tutorials where you can discover, complete, and track courses related to your field and interests. Users will need to create accounts in order to track course progress, create playlists of potential coursework, and keep course notes. Patrons should refer to LinkedIn's Privacy Policy and Website Use Policy before starting.To log in, please click on "Get Started" and enter your NYPL library card number or username and your PIN.
Please note that you can only access course content through the NYPL's LinkedIn Learning login page, and not by directly visiting the LinkedIn Learning homepage. Also note that NYPL's LinkedIn Learning accounts are now accessible through mobile devices and applications. For Mobile users: 1. Download the LinkedIn Learning app from Google Play / App Store. 2. Open the app. 3. Select - "Sign In." 4. Select "Sign in with your library card." 5. You'll be prompted to "Enter your Library ID." Tap on the box and enter "nypl" (all lowercase, no quote marks). 6. Use your NYPL library card number or username and PIN and click on "Continue." First time users will be prompted to select topics of interest.

Searching LinkedIn Learning

Start by clicking on "LinkedIn Learning," then you will be prompted to the screen below.

After you click on Get Started, and the next window will ask you to enter your NYPL card number and PIN. Then, click on Continue.

After you log into the LinkedIn Learning database, do a one keyword search in the library's search box.

If you are searching for LinkedIn courses, type in the keywords LinkedIn or LinkedIn Profile in the library's search box and then press the search button (magnifying) tool.

Look on the left-hand side to filter your results: under the TYPE heading, click on Courses or Learning Paths. Learning Paths are compiled playlists of related video courses on a specific topic or career track. You can also filter by choosing a skill Level; Beginning, Intermediate, or Advanced.

Then you can sort the results by Best Match, View Count, or Newest.
