Here's how to access the yizkor books in this guide.
1) Look up the book you need in the alphabetical tabs.
2) Click on the letter you need:
Or, use the search box:
4) Find your town/city name:
5) Click "town name" or "other names" to view the Library catalog record for the book.

6) Click "NYPL Digital Collections" to view an online copy of the book.
Or click "Yiddish Book Center" to read/download a PDF of the book on the Yiddish Book Center website.
The abbreviation "n.a." (not available) means that a digitized copy of the book is not available.
Why? About 15% of the Library's yizkor book collection is not digitized, usually for copyright and/or formatting reasons.
To use yizkor books in person in the Dorot Jewish Division:
- Get a Library card
- Request books
- Most yizkor books are available immediately
